1438500 2017-08-24 06:24:00 If you like one of your old cases you can always get a drive bay USB 3.0 adapter to give you front ports, or a card reader with a USB 3 port. You don't have to replace the whole case just for front USB 3 ports, but ok yeah I've done that exact thing myself.

Couple of Ideas, 2nd one has 2 SSD mounts as well

@dugimodo...good info thank you....$100 saving at the least. I will have to decide if I want two USB3 Ports or the one with 1 USB3 and the card readers. I have never had to use card readers before, but.... the MB I have has 2 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 headers so that is a bonus.
I do have a case I would like to use. it is a Dell DHM CCHRC1S...but...The MB in it is mATX and there are no vacant screw mount points for an ATX MB.... so I will have to look into the others.

Cheers

1438501 2017-08-24 09:29:00 Or save some more money and get a cheaper motherboard that is also mATX www.computerlounge.co.nz
Do you really need such an expensive one? Personally I'd spend more on graphics and less on the motherboard. Maybe a 6GB 1060.

As for the Dell case, make sure it has standard mounts before choosing it - name brand cases are often specialised.

1438502 2017-08-24 09:46:00 Or if you want something with more outputs on it, you could get it from Ebay or Alixpress.

Most of them have 2 USB 3 ports, quite a few USB 2 ports, esata and lcd screens / fan monitors. ie something like this (www.aliexpress.com)

They're probably cheaper and have more things on them that what you can get here. Would have got one myself, but this case doesn't have any front bays on it

The Dell case will not house an ATX MB . . . as for getting a cheaper board (I have never before spent more then $150 on a MB ) originally I had an eye for the ASUS PRIME B250M-Plus Motherboard and the AMD Ryzen 1600 . One of the two specialist shops I went to in town didn't stock Asus but had the same MB from Gigabyte . . . . one of the bonuses for the b250 MB is that it will run both PCIe 3 . 0 and 2 . 0 Graphics cards so my EVGA GT 710 will fit in there nicely and I could as you say invest the saved cost of $100 on a GTX 1060Ti . . . . but . . . the reviews I read did say that the 1050Ti is the sweet prices one to be getting at this time
I could do an MB exchange for the ASUS PRIME B250M-Plus Motherboard or a B350 but I think I will stay with the 1050 Ti :D

ASUS PRIME B250M-Plus Motherboard $150 (2400Mhz Ram . . . 6Sata3 . . . will run my PCIe2 . 0 card)

or

ASUS PRIME B350M-A, AMD B350, AM4 RYZEN, M . 2, MOTHERBOARD $140

Thanks Lawrence, these front hub devices are alien to me so it is good to now be familiar of their existence.

Cheers
