| 1438093 | 2017-08-10 02:27:00 | Does look like a good little unit, I don't like the external battery Idea in my Lounge though and a small UPS can be had cheaper so despite the ridiculousness of going AC- DC - AC - DC I think I'd still get a UPS personally. Pbtech have one for $89. However I have one of those car jump starters with a DC outlet and also an 150W inverter I sometimes use in the car. When the Christchurch earthquake hit I lost power at home for 40 mins or so (all the way up here in Hamilton) and I just used that combo to power up the router and get the internet working so I could check what had happened and it worked just fine. Good emergency power solution with stuff I already have. |

That would be super handy for in the bedroom where the previous tenant put the ONT (In the wardrobe in the master bedroom), and I'm presuming there's not an obnoxious "beep" as has been mentioned many UPS units have :D Thanks for the heads up on it :) |
