1438865 2017-09-07 22:09:00 SWMBO has bought a "Smart HRM Braclet"
Aparently needs to pair with a mobile phone with Android 4.3 or above.
Unfortunately hers is 4.2.2.
We did try but it wouldn't accept the app.

So the choices are
1/ Update the current phone.
2/ Buy a new one.

Current one is Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7275T
The latest updates have been installed.
A google search found custom firmware sugesting it could be updated to several later varients.

Questions:
Has anyone done one of these.
What version was used.
How sucessful was it.

1438866 2017-09-07 23:40:00 I bought a $40 new 2Degrees phone (locked to network) that I'm sure was Android 4.4, could be used as a fallback if firmware upgrade fails? I'm sure vodafone have similar. psycik (12851)

But the first option would cost nothing.

1438868 2017-09-08 00:49:00 I think they are the equivalent of selfies.
Look at me look at me.

Just go out and have fun, ride a bike, jog, dig the garden, swim, surf, play a sport and enjoy yourself while getting fitter.

Enforced boring exercise, especially while paying attention to your movement is just ugh...

Doesn't work.
You end up on a yoyo, fat, thin, fatter, thin, fatter.
Friend of mine used to do that.
Diets, bursts of activity, but then you stop and put it back, often more.

And it sucks, far better to modify your life forever, in a smaller way.
Thats why I said do a sport, or manual gardening, or whatever thing you actually enjoy.
It doesn't feel like an effort, you have fun and eventually your body is better for it.

All this checking, monitoring, fretting....bleh, dooms you to a miserable time.

Instead of following people on some website, follow them on foot while they're driving long-distance trucks. Your sneakers will lose weight too.
