775873 2009-05-22 04:28:00 Myself and another lady are teaching computer lessons to some mentally challenged people and am looking for ideas on what to create with MS PowerPoint, other than a slideshow of pretty pictures which we have already done.

Being a rather creatively challenged person myself, all I can think of is taking my camera to the class and using pics of them in a "This is my life" kind of slideshow.

Does anyone have any better ideas or suggestions on what to do? You lot have far better imaginations than I have.

Note that it must be reasonably easy to do, nothing complicated.

We took them on a farm to do some docking, Interesting experience for all of us.

I will let the others to do the examples :)

Plan a holiday (search online for photos of things you would want to do, places you want to go?)

That is what I would like to do but I only teach the computer . Other people/services take them on outings . They get out and about and do way more than I do! :stare:

They do have photos taken during these outings but I'm not sure how I would get hold of them to put in the presentation, hence the reason for taking my own camera to the lesson .

Planning a holiday or finding pics on the internet of where they have been and events they have attended sounds a good idea . Would much prefer to have pics of them though, as they get really chuffed when it is on a personal level . They got a real kick out of making certificates for each other .

Hmm . . . just had an idea - I could maybe contact the co-ordinator who arranged the PC lessons and see if she has any pics .

Keep the suggestions coming .

775878 2009-05-22 06:52:00 You could get them to use Powerpoint to make a presentation about computers, or their lessons, get them to make a show about what they're learning about - get two things done at once. mark c (247)
775879 2009-05-22 07:25:00 Ask them to come up with some suggestions on what they'd like it to be about. pctek (84)
775880 2009-05-22 07:46:00 Choose pictures of flowers trees forests skies sea waves mountains, whatever, copy and paste text from poetry/stories/write their own to accentuate the effects of the pictures. zqwerty (97)
775881 2009-05-22 07:49:00 Foxy, my daughter had to do something similar for school. She did it in a way that incorporated old Microsoft Bob pointing and showing everything step by step in a vary simple way, which also included sounds, audio and screen shots. She got an excellence for it, the teacher was very impressed. Bantu (52)
775882 2009-05-22 09:40:00 Perhaps convert your slide show to video, which can be done online, and also add audio (e.g. vocals of yourself/class); But might mean a bit of work. Then burn to a DVD to play. Tutorial here... (www.labnol.org) kahawai chaser (3545)
