| 614243 | 2007-11-30 15:59:00 | I have recently been head hunted by an Australian company to move to Oz, and they are offering me a fantastic offer in terms of wages, the amount of holiday, and other lifestyle benefits. I have been holding off moving to Oz for several years, but am now seriously considering it. I also think I could do with a change. I would be interested to find out how many other people of working age here in NZ are thinking of heading off to Oz. Heres some reading on NZ being Stagnant while other COuntries Zoom past it and i very much agree on most of it. www.stuff.co.nz |

| 614244 | 2007-11-30 22:04:00 | From the article quoted by xpcoe: "Far from standing still, New Zealand over the past eight years has made huge strides . " This may be so, but it's all relative - If your starting point is 3km behind the rest of the field, huge strides, while the rest of the field are ALSO making huge strides, won't catch you up . . . :groan: Nick Palmer, who moved to Australia this year, said he was earning significantly more across the ditch . The 26-year-old could "pick and choose" from telecommunications sale and service jobs . "In my first year working I'm making 50 per cent more in an entry level position than I was after working the same job for five years in Dunedin . " Also true - however income isn't everything . You still have to spend it to live . If the cost of living is higher, then you would expect the wages to be higher . It all comes down to what you have left in your wallet/bank account when all the expenses have been paid! Again, everything is relative . |

It is legal to change your name, there was another chap who went on about relativity,Einstein I think . |
