612705 2008-01-16 00:54:00 Let's not forget that in modern-day business, companies sometimes just buy machines form other companies, then rebadge them and sell at an inflated price. Tait electronics gets this sometimes (they make it, Americans rebadge it as their own. I know this because a mate of mine works there). ubergeek85 (131)

The ones he is describing aren't the F&P ones that they sell here. They may not even be F&P but confused with another brand, as his description dosn't even vaguely meet F&P standards, and I am sure teat F&P wouldn't put their name on a rubbishy product.

I agree F&P wouldnt make a machine that only lasts months. I have rung F&P this afternoon and they are going to get back to me about American whiteware sales.
I have shown them this thread and they are interested where the yank got his gen.
I love Tait radios got airband one over 25 years old and its still going sweet.

I did a quick internet search and found this F&P frontloader at www.myshopping.com.au

It looks like it may be a rebadged machine, as I have never seen it here.

612710 2008-01-16 08:00:00 it could well be just an overseas model. F&P make a lot of goods overseas and country spefic models that we never get to see. tweak'e (69)
612711 2008-01-19 01:48:00 Was wondering whether anyone can help. have just purchased a Fisher & Paykel Aquasmart machine and are having trouble with what looks like a detergent residue on the clothes. Have tried both a liquid and a powder.
Thanks.

Does anyway out there know whether having the bowl replaced will solve this problem.
Thanks.

I dont know the aquasmart but I guess its got a stainless steel or enameled cast bowl.
If nothing on the bowl is worn off I couldnt possibly think of a reason to change it. Unless the reason is to from an appliance repair place to lighten your wallet
The residue is because the detergent hasnt been expunged on the rinse cycle.
Try other powders a warm water rinse will get more of the detergent in solution.
