And I have had tenants who talk of friends who came to NZ with intentions of staying, found they couldn't get work due to rampant racism, suffered major financial penalties, stayed long enough to get NZ citizenship then departed to Oz with relief. |

Nothing is all that different, unless you start a discussion on the merits of the Greeks and the Italians - then you might notice a difference. As has been said, you just get into the same rut as here, get up, go to work, come home, etc, etc. Remember what Rob Muldoon said, "Kiwis going to Australia can only increase the IQ of both countries." But why not be a bit more adventurous? Why not go to somewhere different, such as Europe? Granted, the weather can be disgusting in the winter but the summers can be lovely. Why not go to say, Germany or France? There you will really find out how other people live and you will learn another language as well. The french natives can be arrogant but the germans can be very nice. Why not? Could be a great experience for you and your family. |

I have family on Oz, and quite like going there to see them . We have driven a few thousand k's there and my observations of Oz are . . . . Some beautiful places, but vast distances between them with lots of olive coloured trees, red dirt, blue sky and black roads . Nice people, not much different from us . At least NZ does not have the distance problem . Nearly went there 30 years ago . I wonder what . . . . . . Ken |
