| 613366 | 2007-11-25 05:23:00 | Hmmm, Vantec. I seem to remember one of those that killed hard drives. Seems the external power supply was producing some funky voltages. Also something like the damage in your pic occurred, as it touched the metal of the enclosure (and the magic smoke was lost). It seems that some hard drives don't have the same clearance between the circuit board (and components thereon) and bottom of drive (metal sides). |
