Beats the pants off 2003 etc. My favourite things are being able to highlight some text and have the formatting box appear immediately above it so you can change font style, size, alignment etc without having to click on the tool bar. The inbuilt reference manager is also very handy if you have to write papers with references. I also like the range of special formatting (text boxes and sidebars etc) that are available. It really depends upon your use of Word if you are asking about 1997 vs 2007 because you want to upgrade. If you just want to write some plain documents, then OpenOffice is good (free alternative). Power users would appreciated the extra stuff in Word 2007. |
