776058 2009-05-23 06:55:00 OpenOffice is often on the NZ PC World magazine disk (or other computer magazine disks) if you didn't want to download the program.

It sounds like you have got things working for you anyway now. :)

776059 2009-05-23 07:06:00 Good you got it going as you wanted.

Just a comment regarding
Wainuitech. Great idea, but in doing it that way, it seems to save the copy as suitable for all versions and made it 300+ Mb!
So what if its on a CD, they are cheap and at least you can play it on any PC/Laptop.

The reason for saying to put it on CD instead of the laptop is also for a backup -- what happens if the laptop fails at the wrong moment - every thing is lost. (and this can and does happen)

776060 2009-05-23 11:42:00 Great that you got it working, and also awesome that you provided the feedback about the outcome for you!

If you don't mind I'm curious which option you tried of the three I suggested, or did they all not work? I'm assuming it's the Compress option that didn't reduce your file size by much?

Saucy. Tried that. Simply didn't work.

776061 2009-05-23 22:31:00 Hi, Saucy. I tried both of yours. The support tools installed OK, but PP2003 could not see the PP 2007 file. Tried the compression tool also, but made no appreciable difference. The viewer worked but in the context of when I tried Wainuitech's suggestion to 'package to CD'. It essentially created a PP2003 copy of the file and I wasn't really much better off. The key here, I believe, is the laptop only has limited resources and I was stretching it, unless I could make the presentation smnaller, which I did using Blam6's suggestion (File Minimiser). Cheers. A Team (13613)
