It also (normally) transmits audio, as long as the cable is 1.3 standard and the TV and Laptop support it. Don't be fooled into paying $100s for a cable, the el-cheapo digitus (or whatever) jobbie will do the job just as well, for a fraction of the price. www.trademe.co.nz Something like that would be fine - what length do you want? |

| 775931 | 2009-05-22 05:49:00 | +1 with Wratterus's comments. HDMI is best, same quality as DVI but also transmits sound along with video while DVI transfers video data only. If your laptop can't output to a high resolution then using HDMI or VGA won't make a difference, but at higher resolutions HDMI is a digital connection whilst VGA is analogue, so on HDMI the picture will look much better. The only disadvantage of this is that you would have to have the sound coming out of your laptop speakers, or some other pc speakers :(. |

Only a few $$ worth. If you do get a new laptop Cic, I would highly recomend finding one with HDMI out if you want to use it to watch movies on a LCD or Plasma TV. |
