Hey I only just reinstalled windows xp pro and when I turned it on this morning it gets as far as the windows xp loading screen with the progress bar near the bottom and then the pc restarts. I tried safe mode same thing. So tried last good settings that worked and this time just before the pc reset I saw a brief flash of a BSOD but could not see what it was cause it went so fast. So stuck windows xp disk in and repaired xp and it booted to the GUI but i could not do anything mouse moved but could not click on anything and Ctrl-Alt-Del did nothing. What could I have done wrong in the space of a day? |

Hang on just looked at another thread pressf1.co.nz and wainuitech says there are some problems with slipstreamed xp sp3 disk. The disk I used is a slipstreamed so will try repair install with sp2 |

You didnt use nlite when you slipstreamed it did you, and remove anything important, before you made the cd? It must only happen with certain systems or something (slipstreaming SP3). I've slipstreamed the net framework files / WMP 11+ updates, and SP2/3, on a cd. Never had a prob with installing XP. |

So did it show a BSOD this time? Whats the mobo / how much ram is in it?? Some mobos (if they've got 4 GB+) can play up. (When you reinstall). So, if you've got 4 GB+ remove all sticks (except 1-2 GB), then try again |

I have a Gigabyte GA-M61SME-S2 AMD 6000+ 2 gb ddr2 800.

Seems to be working now, Just doing all the updates that I have gotten in 15 mins. 45!!! |
