615802 2007-11-28 06:15:00 No. I use a neat screen capture thing called SNAGIT. I prepare training notes and similar material and Snagit (which cost a few dollars years ago) is really magic to use. Scouse (83)
615803 2007-11-28 08:30:00 You can do this in MS Paint. It comes included with Windows. Make a copy of an image and play with that until you have the desired effect. Don't forget the magic Undo command.

You can mark documents using the drawing tools available in MS Word or OpenOffice in a similar manner.

615804 2007-11-28 08:37:00 I'm a big fan of SnagIt too - on version 8.2.3 now, started on version 5, way back at the turn of the century. I also produce system documentation and training material, but my prime use is for capturing screenshots of software bugs (I'm a Test Analyst) to send back to the developers.

At the risk of turning this thread into a piece of spam - SnagIt, for US$40 (approx), does sooooo much more than just capture screenshots. It also does text capture, bulk capture of images from a website, video capture (rudimentary) and has outputs that include PDF and just about evey image file type you can think of. It also has a pretty darn good image editor.

Version 9 coming out very soon, which includes fairly major changes to the UI... Should be pretty good when it's released for general consumption - it's been in test for quite a few months now, ironing out the glitches (mainly Vista-related ones it seems).

Thanks for that, will have a look in MS Paint.

I can't think when I would have used it,so $40 us is a bit pricey.

For nowt,I will find a use for it,seems it could be handy at times.
