615324 2007-11-26 05:35:00 Hi all,

I purchased a cd player I have wanted for awhile off Trademe. Alas it was a pickup only and I am 700km away. I thought "no problem I should be able to organise a courier to pick it up". But the trader so far refuses to package it for me, so I need to somehow get it picked up not packaged and then get it packaged for a courier (or grovel and get her to package it for me).

Any ideas... :waughh:

Well if they said it was pick-up only, then it's probably because they didn't have the proper packaging to do it safely. What city is it in - you may be able to find a PF1er who would be willing to sort it out fo ryou.

615326 2007-11-26 07:22:00 Thats a plan. Next time, though, look more closely at the auction terms! wratterus (105)
615327 2007-11-26 08:49:00 Its doesn't say that you must pick it up personally. It just says it must be picked up. There is a firm that advertises that they will do exactly was I want, i.e. pick it up, package it and courier it to you but the site seems to me to be a bit dodgy.

Anyone live out Kaukapakapa way and is feeling generous. (I will pay you for your trouble - probably breached the PressF1 Terms of Use now). :help:

615328 2007-11-28 05:55:00 I've seen someone driving around henderson with a van that had "trademe pickups" painted on it...

Either way, I wouldn't expect the website to be good, but it's probably not dodgy

615329 2007-11-28 06:12:00 Well, I empathise with the seller. It's a pain in the a to package awkward things up and then drive them across town to the courier. Whereas, if it sold to someone local, they could come around and pick it up and pay cash. But I haven't had the balls to tell a buyer I won't do it----yet! TideMan (4279)
