776696 2009-05-25 03:17:00 I recently purchased Vista Home Premium and a new Graphics Card for my computer
CPU 1.25 AMD
1.5 gb Ram
Geforce 7600 GS Video Card

After installing Vista I keep getting a problem of the computer going in to sleep mode and closing down, then restarts with Blue Screen of death which I dont understand. Iwent to the Nvidia site and downloaded uptodate drivers but still happens. I have since gone back to XP and no problems.

I have also tried Windows 7 on a duel boot with the same problems

Any help would be appreciated

776697 2009-05-25 03:28:00 What is the BSOD?

The exact error codes.

776698 2009-05-25 12:45:00 Vista pre-SP1 had issues with waking from sleep mode, have you installed SP1; also your motherboard drivers on something of this age (2003?) are possibly not compatible with Vista/Win7, what brand and model is your motherboard (and does it have an Nforce chipset)?, and CPU (Duron/Athlon)?
And what Blam said.

776699 2009-05-26 22:42:00 Thanks for the replys.

The BSOD says something about nvlddmkm.sys but is to quick for me to see all. Also mentions Kernal mode driver 181.71 stopped working

My Motherboard is Microstar ModelMS6570
Bios update 27/01/05

CPU Athlon 1.25

Video card Nvidia GeForce 7600Gs

chipset Nvidia NForce 2 ICP

Hope this helps

776700 2009-05-26 22:47:00 Uninstall the nvidia video drivers. Theyre probably buggy / crashing the system. Then download the latest version of the drivers / reinstall them. Are you using the right version (x86 if you have 32 bit or x64 if you have 64 bit)? Speedy Gonzales (78)
776701 2009-05-27 00:05:00 Yes-reinstall the drivers. They seem to be playing up. Blam (54)
