776557 2009-05-24 20:13:00 Hi guys,

My friend has a Compac Laptop, it will not start up.

When you press the on off button, some of the blue lights come on but the screen remains blank, and the hard drive light does not show any activity.

What I would like to know is, where is a good sort of place to take it to, to get repaired ? Eg Send it to Compac ?, local computer shop ? (Its about 2 years old)

Is it cost effective getting laptops repaired ?

I suspect it may be the on off button (as it has always had problems turning off) Is it easy to replace this switch if I bought one ? I am fairly hardware literate !

Regards

Go to Hewlett Packard's NZ website, grab their NZ phone number or email address for Compaq repair support and ask them for your nearest HP service centre.
