776532 2009-05-24 11:01:00 Hey!

I'm considering upgrading my home modem/router, for no real purpose, but was just wondering if an older router like a Cisco 837 will be just as good of an ADSL modem as my current RTA1320?

The Cisco 837 comes with builtin ADLS but I'm not sure if that supports ADSL2+ or just the bare ADSL, in which case my internet would slow down I guess.

Thanks,

776533 2009-05-24 12:06:00 I don't think the Cisco is ADSL2 compatible. Have a Cisco 800 at a site and it's not ADSL2 but are still getting 6mb down stream with it. berryb (99)

776535 2009-05-25 09:09:00 I have an 837 and an 877 at home. Using an Orcon adsl2 connection and both of the routers get the same speed. If you are wanting to learn about cisco networking then these little routers are great to play around with.
