| 776481 | 2009-05-24 08:30:00 | Was installing W7 RC on a PC here today, and a weird problem has appeared on this fresh install. Boots up, gets to W7 loading screen and then just blank screen after that. Its clearly running and doing stuff as normal, as HDD LED is blinking, just doesn't display on screen. Worked the first few times, then the above started happening. Works fine in safe mode. This also started happening on the Xp install before that..starting to think its a hardware problem.. Blam |

| 776484 | 2009-05-24 09:36:00 | Already updated video card . Try going back to the Vista video driver from the laptop or video card manufacturer . I've noticed some strange issues with some beta drivers for Win7 . The Vista drivers work fine for Win7, they just don't support the new features of WDDM 1 . 1 . Basically WDDM 1 . 1 does some cool stuff ( . extremetech . com/article2/0,2845,2334155,00 . asp" target="_blank">www . extremetech . com) plus performance improvements ( . msdn . com/e7/archive/2009/04/25/engineering-windows-7-for-graphics-performance . aspx" target="_blank">blogs . msdn . com), but it needs new drivers and that always seems to take quite a while, I guess GPUs and graphics tech are complicated . Might not be your issue but worth a try . |
