| 614867 | 2007-11-27 07:23:00 | This government has hoarded my taxes, Then made me a benificery via their working for families crap, and now penalize me for earning my money and reward me for not working. All they while they pour billions into policies based on race, reward people for declaring themselves victims. And thousands of hard working capable continue to flee the country. Meanwhile a local gets 2 years for killing an elderly lady. Put all the fluffy spin on that crap you like, The real story is still there. |

Bar owners shouldn't have to give time off to staff - and they don't have to work there if they don't like it? so...the next step is for bar workers to complain about being around drinkers?, get that unhealthy practice banned from bars? |

Put all the fluffy spin on that crap you like, The real story is still there. exactly similarly, if an adult kills a child it's a child abuse case. it should be a murder - and now instead of definign the line between abuse and dicipline (which they had infact already done) they just banned both. then there's stuff like microchipping dogs, which will only affect those with legal animals which don't need to be chipped racially based legislation. (seriously, how does having certain race-based benefits give us equality?) carbon taxes on a nation that is relatively carbon free and has enough dis-incentives for businesses to move here as it is and countless other inneffective wastes of money in a response to media frenzy oh and the budget could do with a bit of work in the direction of education, nursing, health, and firing the beurocrats at LTNZ so now we end up with a situation where we refer to the goverment as "them", despite them apparently being democratically elected by all to act in the ways we all agree on... though i do think, despite abuses, ACC is invaluable for the NZ way of life (avoids frivolous lawsuits and is basically cheap health insurance guaranteed to pay out) |

The government isn't elected to act in ways we all agree on. It's elected to act in the way that the majority agree on. |

Or perhaps a National-led coalition? Or is your comment directed at government in general? |

| 614873 | 2007-11-27 08:20:00 | heh? Obviously my comments are directly concerned with the actions of our current Government. No idea about the long term actions of National, Has nothing to do with the issue. Labour disgust me, They have to go. The crap they have already pulled in removing all discipline from home, school and the community will come and and haunt our country with a vengeance. |

Democracy is about more than voting. There's plenty of opportunity to contribute to policymaking. Join a political party and attend meetings - that way you will be able to contribute to the formation of that party's policy at member level. You will often get direct access to that party's MPs (if they have any) at functions. Each Bill goes to Select Committee. Pretty much anybody gets to make submissions to Select Committee hearings and Bills are often amended according to contributions given there. So if there's a Bill you don't like - make a submission. |
