| 615122 | 2007-11-27 01:50:00 | Husband had a Firestorm which lasted ages and ages. It got a thrashing too. What died in the end was the battery which are nearly as much as the drill. So he bought a used DeWalt. Its lasting and lasting.............. He does have a corded hammer drill too. He says that takes all the fun out of standing around for years drilling concrete etc....:thumbs: |

| 615123 | 2007-11-27 02:33:00 | Just bought a Bosch Lithium ion 18 v jobbie today ex Bunning. $280 with two batteries. B$D was $250 with one battery. Battery weighs so little,will be interesting to see how it goes. I have 6 of the sods already.(cordless) |

| 615124 | 2007-11-27 08:58:00 | I got 2 hitachi 12v drills, had them ages, the batteries died after a few hard years, sent them to a place in east tamaki & they replaced the battery cells with higher capacity ones, (in the original cases) they still work after about 6 years. Got a dewalt 14v & its useless, dirty great batteries must be full of air. Won't buy makita after seeing the way they duck & dive on fair go a couple of years ago.
