| 777147 | 2009-05-28 21:26:00 | vLite hasn't been updated to allow slipstreaming of SP2 and is not looking like being updated anytime soon. Apparently you can do it via this method (www.winbeta.org), but haven't seen any posts to confirm/deny it. There are of course MSDN/TechNet isos with SP2 already slipstreamed :) |

Probably better off getting the MSDN/TechNet ISO if I had a subscription, but I don't unfortunately. |

| 777149 | 2009-05-29 22:28:00 | From what I have read - this explains it -- Quoted from here (www.dmxzone.com). Quite impressed that it went in so fast - started the download, went out and put some more wood on fire, came back and sitting there was install now / Agree etc--- went and made a cuppa, stole some lamington cake we just go tonight :drool and ready to reboot. Before with Sp1 - had 175GB Free space, after installing Sp2 have 206GB. Edited: one thing I did also was turn off all security - no antispyware or antivirus - as sometimes they can cause problems with major updates. ??, the o/s isnt that big!! I have SP2 on a laptop, taking up about 13gb...have yet to run the clean up....i cant believe that i has given you 30Gb back....LOL |

Did a few downloads since then from technet - so currently its showing as 196Gb left -- the other drive In this picture (www.imagef1.net.nz) is windows 7. I'll do another install of SP2 on a workshop PC, and see what the difference is. Stay tuned as they say. |

| 777151 | 2009-06-04 06:31:00 | Re my note of more than a week ago..... Vista Home Premium with SP1. Just downloaded and started the update. After an hour I got: "Service Pack did not install. Reverting changes. Do not turn off your computer.": Nearly another hour and the system is running, but still SP1. No explanation...... Three tries... same result. Any one any clues where to try from here? |
