777134 2009-05-27 03:49:00 I've heard vLite doesn't work with SP2 Hmmmmm Just did some reading and seems you cant currently Slipstream SP2 with Vlite.

It is available, Vista with SP2 from Technet / MSDn if you know anyone who has a subscription.

I'll be downloading it later, when I get the time. BUT the download is 3,093.16 (MB) ( retail version) - and todays not a good day to do a big download.

777136 2009-05-27 03:58:00 Vista Home Premium with SP1.

Just downloaded and started the update. After an hour I got:

"Service Pack did not install.
Reverting changes.
Do not turn off your computer.":

Nearly another hour and the system is running, but still SP1.
No explanation......

777137 2009-05-27 04:01:00 Not for now, but it will soon

Scouse: Wait for it to roll out through WU and see what happens

BTW, once you've installed SP2 run the cleanup tool to remove the old SP1 and RTM files.

Should clear up alot of space

Run>cmd>C:\Windows\System32 \compcln.exe>Hit enter.

Type Y and hit enter

777143 2009-05-27 10:25:00 but what was taking up that space????

From what I have read - this explains it --
•Service Pack Clean up tool (Compcln.exe): This tool helps restore the hard disk space by permanently deleting the previous versions of the files (RTM & SP1) that are being serviced by Service Pack 2.

Quoted from here (www.dmxzone.com).

Quite impressed that it went in so fast - started the download, went out and put some more wood on fire, came back and sitting there was install now / Agree etc--- went and made a cuppa, stole some lamington cake we just go tonight :drool and ready to reboot.

Before with Sp1 - had 175GB Free space, after installing Sp2 have 206GB.

Edited: one thing I did also was turn off all security - no antispyware or antivirus - as sometimes they can cause problems with major updates.
