776683 2009-05-25 01:06:00 Some 8x AGP cards will work fine, BUT if the system only supports 4x, it'll go down to 4x speed Speedy Gonzales (78)
776684 2009-05-25 01:46:00 Thats ok... its hard enough finding low profile agp cards, and anythings better than the original card, right? ;)

776685 2009-05-25 13:07:00 You may find that the card itself is half height but the backplane (the metal bracket) is full height and wont fit, Ascent do have PCI cards listed
www.ascent.co.nz
These should fit (If I remember right the PCI (white) slots in an Optiplex will fit a full height card).

776686 2009-05-26 05:22:00 I thought it didnt matter, as you can always replace the backplate with different-sized ones? The card im getting says it has a low profile backplate included, so even if its not the right size, i can just attach a different plate... cant i? NZDragon (14937)
776687 2009-05-26 05:51:00 As long as the card is low-profile, yes, you can swap the backplate. If it says it includes a low profile backplate, great, no problem. If you don't get one that includes a low-profile backplate, finding a backplate can be annoying lol. inphinity (7274)
776688 2009-05-26 05:55:00 I want to upgrade the video card for my dell optiplex gx260 (

Why?

Gaming? Because you're wasting your time unfortunately. If it's for gaming you will have to change to today's hardware which will mean a new motherboard, a tower case, a new CPU, new RAM, new graphics card and new PSU to power it all.

Gaming is what drives the hardware industry and as result you will have to either opt out or join the upgrade cycle.
