777007 2009-05-26 08:17:00 Reading the latest PC world mag the graphics card section and looking at the cards on review they didn't look like they had a standard attachment for the monitor, did my eyes deceive me or do they have a different connection? gary67 (56)
777008 2009-05-26 08:18:00 dvi wasnt it? on the ATI cards? GameJunkie (72)
777009 2009-05-26 08:19:00 So could you attach a normal monitor to them? gary67 (56)
777010 2009-05-26 08:31:00 Not unless its got VGA on it. Unless you get an adapter from somewhere. Altho cards do have DVI, VGA, and HDMI on them Speedy Gonzales (78)
777011 2009-05-26 09:25:00 You can get adapters. My card (pretty old now though) came with a DVI port and a VGA one, and had an adapter for the DVI port. ad_267 (6193)
777012 2009-05-26 09:53:00 most of the new monitors that you buy nowadays come with both the normal VGA cable and also a DVI cable. but if you do not have the DVI cable than you will need a DVI to VGA adaptor. ronyville (10611)
777013 2009-05-26 10:41:00 Thanks just wasn't sure what they were. gary67 (56)
777014 2009-05-26 20:31:00 First they had VGA connectors. Then VGA + DVI, then 2 DVI, now most have DVI + HDMI pctek (84)

+1

Higher end cards generally have DVI+DVI with an HDMI adapter.

Cheaper cards are usually VGA+DVI with S-Video
