| 776750 | 2009-05-25 04:23:00 | IE creating a Shortcut when you double click it I assume you mean, if so this works: Download This (www.kellys-korner-xp.com) and save it someplace. make sure you get the right ones here: Then open the Reg, click Start/run, type in regedit navigate to the following keys --- HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D} Delete that key {871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D} + all sub keys Next: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\CLSID\{871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D} Delete that key {871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D} + all sub keys Close the Reg. Next - right click the file you downloaded before - right click / merge. IE will now open normally (or should) Depending on what SP you are using for XP, the desktop icon may disappear, if SP2 right click desktop -> Properties->Desktop->customize desktop-> check Internet Explorer hit ok, and ok. IF SP3, download This here (blog.ryantadams.com) and run it, you may need to right click the desktop/ refresh or even reboot. The Manual way - which I do, as its faster than trying to locate that damn fix all the time is open the registry, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons \NewStartPanel -- In the right hand pane, double-click {871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D} key. Change the 1 to a 0 , exit out , right click desktop, refresh - and bingo, one Working IE. |

| 776756 | 2009-05-27 05:57:00 | Give FF access. Otherwise there's no point having Comodo installed, if its disabled. You may as well uninstall it | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
