That might explain the liver failure . . . . . . . .

The first time I saw him in person was at old Lions Drag Strip in Wilmington, California about 1962 .

Some nutcase on a Hardley Sportster came out of the pits between runs and as he got up to speed, he jumped off the seat and skied behind the bike, holding on to the back of the seat .

He made a few passes this way, getting the crowd up in cheers as his steel-footed boots sparked and dazzled while he rode back and forth a few times .

The announcer tried to get him off the bike by announcing his name and saying things like: "Well done, now on with the drags" and "Thank-you, for the great show . . . now . . . . . "

He only got off the bike when it ran outta gas .

Looking closely at the bike later in the pits, I noticed the tank was really . . . . . . . really small .

So . . that's how they get him to quit! He runs outta gas and has to stop!
