616811 2007-12-01 02:23:00 trying to navigate this......what a nitemare on dial up.:waughh:
I know what i looking for, not a named company but a a type of business....... and i know which town it is in, and it says......... no such information. or something like that.

i find it hard to navigate, as the select a catergory idea means you need to no the business / industry first? not just a town and open up a wide range of names places to check out. understand?

was it really to make it easier? because you cant just say i want to find all reindeer stockists in beetleville town....... lol it cant do it.

oh well mite have to go down to the local post shop and find a phone book for that town and look them up ...........

i hardly use the yellow / white pages........... but will not be in a hurry to use them again.

616812 2007-12-01 02:33:00 Put the name of the shop into Google. And change the regional setting to New Zealand. Sometimes it works faster than yellow :2cents: bob_doe_nz (92)

Its now owned by a Canadian investment company, so is is no longer a NZ owned company, and I believe they are after big returns on their investment . They have also contracted out a lot of NZ jobs to the Philippines , so a lot of people have lost their job . nzherald . co . nz/category/story . cfm?c_id=74&objectid=10479012" target="_blank">www . nzherald . co . nz
These are reasons why I din't renew my advertsing with them, as I would prefer to spend my advertising dollar with a NZ owned company . There website also still doesn't work properly in Opera, (no search boxes) even after I contacted them and also after informing one of their representatives on this forum .

616814 2007-12-01 18:06:00 Yes the online yellow pages suck.

They are very badly laid out and the categories are not consistent.

616815 2007-12-01 23:25:00 Apparently the Canadians have really set a world precedent here. Since taking over Yellow Pages and re-branding it, they have fairly conclusively shown that Telecom are not always the world's worst.

Is Yellow the new Blue?.

The yellow pages site in Opera doesn't show the search boxes to enable you to search a phone number, so yes it is worse than it was before the candians took it over . They haven't yet updated the White pages site, so that does still work in Opera . . . for now . At least telecom is now largely owned by NZers, mainly by mom and dad investors, so a lot of the profits telecom make stay in NZ . This is unlike companies that are owned by offshore interests . I am very much buy from NZ owned companies when I can .
