2009-05-29 04:11:00 | Hey guys im looking at overcloaking my C2D E6600 but i dont know what aftermarket fan to get. The problem is my mobo. its got these huge copper grills around the CPU... its a gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 I dont know what kind of fan would fit in there that would get my CPU from 2.4GHz to 3.2+GHz while keeping it at 30-40 degrees. Can anyone help me out with this one? Right now i can OC it to 3.0GHz stock fan and have it idling at 30-40 degrees. and go up to 50-55 degrees under load with GTAIV (winter time so i thought i'd OC it)

2009-05-29 04:20:00 | 50-55 @ 3ghz is okay......I have the AC freezer pro, but inside the wind tunnel of my TJ06...I'm 45-48 @ load @ 3ghz... | SolMiester (139) | |
2009-05-29 04:26:00 | thing is i want to make it go higher. Because i saw a huge improvement in Crysis and GTA IV and my CPU is quite a bottle neck for the latter. Plus prototype is coming out and the minimum CPU requirement is 2.6GHz Dual Core. Thats pretty steep. I need it to go higher than what ive got now

2009-05-29 06:10:00 | If this helps the stock fan has about a 1/2 centimetre gap between the copper grills and itself. Are there any fans that would fit in there which can give me an adequate OC and resonable temps? sorry the edit button was gone by the time i got back from tech.

2009-05-29 06:38:00 | I think most good aftermarket coolers would fit in there. AC7Pro, True120. I recommend the latter. I've also heard good things about the Xigmateks.

2009-05-29 06:45:00 | cool ill check out the reviews for them and see if i can make out which one would suit me best.. just a wild guess but the TRUE 120.. is it a 120mm fan? because the stock is 90mm i think | lolgasmhard (14947) | |
2009-05-29 07:06:00 | Yes, the TRUE comes with a 120mm fan. Xigmateks are also quite good but cheaper. Check out the HDT-S1283 Blam

2009-05-29 08:22:00 | Actually, the TRUE120 doesn't come with a fan. You'll have to buy one (or two) separately. | qazwsxokmijn (102) | |
