| 777516 | 2009-05-27 23:26:00 | I have a standard USB keyboard plugged into my Laptop. Occasionally, as a two fingered typist, my finger hits one of the keys such as shift or control or caps lock accidentally instead of a letter. I don't know that I have done this until I try typing letters specific letters only to find that the letter doesn't respond by typing its name. Instead it types another letter for example, if I was to type "a", it might come out on screen as "c''. This continues for each letter I type. I have found the only way to correct this is to reboot the computer. What is happening here and is there another way to fix the problem without rebooting? Thanks for your help:) |

| 777518 | 2009-05-27 23:34:00 | Hi Wratterus, Yes it has happened with the keyboard on the lappy too. I am therefore convinced that it is not the keyboard itself...but rather a gremlin under the hood :) |

| 777521 | 2009-05-28 19:58:00 | Just a hunch - but maybe you are routinely Hibernating your computers. I've seen some very weird behaviour from XP after it has hibernated a number of times. Windows needs to be rebooted completely at times to flush out the gremlins. |
