2009-05-27 23:05:00 | Ive been a member of mylotto since it began. Originally I used IE 7 to connect - then as I do I got bored - and uploaded Firefox -- all was fine -- then I change again to IE7 and mylotto will let me sign in - but when I go to purchase the ticket it tells me I am not in NZ and cannot go any further. So I have to bring up FF and I can do everything there. I decided to update IE7 to 8 -- thining that might sort it out - but NO. So I emailed mylotto - they replied saying I would have to contact microsoft NZ -- this morning I have spent ages going through their site (contact us) clicking through page after page of 'it is this' type questions - and then had to do a google search for an 0800 number. I rang them -- after giving all the details -- then going my computer/proprties and giving him the service pack number (3) and the number beneath that -- he says -- you have a configuration problem that will have to be sorted by a technician and it will cost $75 for starters -- this elicited a yelp from me -- i asked if I had to pay for the dudes I was talking to ;D and hung up. What can I do to correct this??

2009-05-27 23:12:00 | And did he say what the configuration prob was?? Sounds like he doesnt know what he's talking about. Go to tools / internet options in IE / advanced. Reset it. Then re-add the search engines (if you want more), re-enable the addons under tools / manage add-ons. Then try again. Is Java / flash installed? Also make sure its on Auckland, Wellington (under date and time) in control panel , under the timezone tab | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2009-05-27 23:48:00 | I had a problem with their site, suddenly decided as soon as I'd log in that I had the wrong password or username. Went through the process of getting a new one, same story. Contacted them and they said I'd have to MAIL or fax evidence of my identity before they'd sort it. They still have my $20 which they won't refund and they can get stuffed. Rubbish site.

2009-05-27 23:50:00 | Is Java / flash installed? Speedy -- I have troubles with this too -- though it never showed when I used IE with the lotto site. When I am doing something that requires java up pops a notebook page with the loading info on it. ONLY WITH IE THOUGH.

2009-05-28 00:04:00 | HMMM well I did that -- and nothing has changed -- home page and searches stayed as defaults. One addon had to be enabled. Ive tried to connect again but to no avail.

2009-05-28 02:40:00 | Speedy -- Ive asked another contact about this also -- his reply -- It's a bug in IE/Flash - I've dealt with the mylotto people and we tried to find a fix (I think I posted a screen shot in the "****" thread), but the actual issue is the flash player/IE combination and since it's across to separate software packages there's no fix for it. I know for a fact that mylotto know about this issue and have done for sometime - I'm surprised they put you through to Microsoft. Microsoft also should know about this issue - it's mentioned a lot on the developers forums. Don't waste your time trying to fix it - you cant. And don't call anyone about it either - they cant help you.... ... so you be on your own (with all the other millions for company)! DOES THAT SOUND RIGHT?? Umm I know this guy well - hes not a bull shitter -- anyone got any ideas where else to go with this?

2009-05-28 02:54:00 | What version of flash is installed? 10.0.22.87? I'm not on mylotto, so have no idea whether thats why or not. If FF works, you'll probably have to keep using that instead | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2009-05-28 03:54:00 | Some ISP's (particularly those owned by overseas parents) have occaisonally assigned clients IP addresses that are in their overseas-parent's range. I am not familiar with the MyLotto site, but if it is judging where you are based on IP address, well, this may be happening. It still works in FF though? Or it no longer does? | inphinity (7274) | |
