777348 2009-05-27 11:33:00 Hello,

I need some help with a stupid problem i keep having with my laptop's video card.

I own a Dell Inspiron T1525, 2 GB of RAM, 1.8 Ghz Intel Dual Core processor, and 384 MB on my nSeries Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family video card. I run XP Professional SP2 with DirectX 9.0C (build 4.09).

The thing is, i have some old games installed like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 or Mafia, circa 2001-2002, and even on newer games like Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, the games start and run withouth a glitch but i keep having these huge colourfull areas in-game. For example i have huge spaces of green where the color only dissapears after i get close to that area, then the real detail of the building is shown.

I run on 32 bit, 60 Hz Refresh, 1280x800, the resolution is set right on all games and i've tried endless combinations of settings to no avail.

I didn't have this problem when i had Vista Ultimate installed, but now it's here and it's really annoying because i can't play anything, everything is either green or purple or blue.

Any hints on how i might solve this?

Thanks.

777349 2009-05-27 11:51:00 So what operating system are you using now?

Vista worked I guess.

Have you downloaded new drivers for the Video card and motherboard drivers as well and installed these for the O/S?

777350 2009-05-27 11:53:00 I'm using XP SP2 now and the drivers have been installed by the guys at Dell when i sent my laptop in for hard-drive replacement on my warranty. Luppi (12974)
777351 2009-05-27 12:58:00 So why not re install Vista then which you say you had? Sweep (90)
777352 2009-05-27 13:01:00 I'm in college, miles away from home and any legal Vista Install CD. Plus, i had some incompatibilities with some software i use in Vista, so i'd prefer to keep it stable in XP SP2.

Is there any other way i could make the graphics work? I mean these games are ages old, only a couple are new, and they work perfectly, but have very very annoying colourfull areas.

Maybe it's a driver problem or something else.

Any other suggestions?

777355 2009-05-27 17:04:00 Care to be a tad more specific?

Any way i can fix it?

777356 2009-05-27 19:44:00 So do you have the most up to date drivers for your video card? What about installing SP3 it's perfectly fine for installing no errors that I know of gary67 (56)
777357 2009-05-27 19:47:00 I checked with Driver Updater and it says they are the most up to date available for my chipset, i also posted the version on nvidia's forums but they don't seem to give much of a damn, the version is 6.14.10.4885.

Any idea where i can check for newer ones, or give me a hint about a newer one available or any other solution?

This really annoys me, they worked under Vista perfectly, and they still do, only with those stupid colours, it's driving me crazy.
