777271 2009-05-27 05:35:00 I have a Asus L3000D Laptop here.
Neither the TV-Out or External Monitor ports work.
The Fn+F8 keys are used to enable this. The display indicator shows up when you use the switch but nothing comes out the ports.
The other function switches all work.
Have updated the hot keys in case there was a conection there.
No change.
Appears to have the correct vidio drivers & bios settings are default.
Other than that, everything else is good.
XP Pro fully updated.

777272 2009-05-27 06:41:00 When you go into Display Settings is the external monitor detected? Blam (54)
777273 2009-05-27 07:46:00 Well I thought I had better check that out.
So I plugged in a CRT monitor & booted the laptop.
Wouldn't you know it, now it works.
Haven't tryed the S-Vidio yet.

777274 2009-05-27 07:51:00 Well it helps if you plug a monitor in :p Speedy Gonzales (78)
777275 2009-05-27 08:33:00 Thanks for that Speedy.
Although I am quite capable of doing that, I did have the monitor plugged in & out during the afternoon while I was tweaking. So no-one was more suprised when than me when it went.
I am actually trying to get it run through a telly by S-Vidio & it still isn't.

777276 2009-05-27 08:41:00 Get a s-video to rca adapter. If the TV has RCA inputs. Something like this (www.dse.co.nz). You'll probably want an s-video to 3 plug RCA adapter, if your TV is stereo (<-- may only be for the TV, not the sound). Just make sure the s-video end has the right amount of pins (as there's a 4/5 and 7 pin plug). Speedy Gonzales (78)
777277 2009-05-27 09:25:00 My telly does have an S-Vidio input channel but it dosent work on that.
There is also a S-Vidio input on the DVD Recorder but that doesent work either.

Blams sugestion re detection of external monitor.
There is a second smaller version of the default LCD monitor.
But that is there regardless of weather is has an external monitor plugged in.

777278 2009-05-27 09:31:00 Umm what video drivers are installed? Intel / ATI / Nvidia? Yup I've never managed to get s-video working either. Even tho I've got a plug for it. It doesnt come out in colour anyway. Its either B&W or brings up some crap screen. I usually use s-video to RCA, because it works Speedy Gonzales (78)
777279 2009-05-27 09:39:00 I don't think I'll worry about it either at least we can use the D-Sub.
Thanks for your help.
