777583 2009-05-28 08:19:00 Has it EVER been updated since SP2 came out? Speedy Gonzales (78)
777584 2009-05-28 08:24:00 I will take care of that now.
Will this improve the booting?

777585 2009-05-28 08:27:00 It may do, has it been defragged as well? Look in device manager under IDE / Ata /atapi controllers, under primary and secondary (under advanced settings).

Its not in PIO mode is it? WHAT else is connected to the hdd (if its IDE)?

777586 2009-05-28 10:09:00 If it hasn't been defragged in ages, then that would speed things up.

Might want to defrag the registry too. Probably bloated as hell

777587 2009-05-28 22:50:00 I found the culprit of the delayed boot - corrupted ZoneAlarm Personal Firewall. Once I uninstalled it, the boot process was normal. NZHawk (4093)
777588 2009-05-29 00:23:00 Avast messes up Zonealarm. I got Sygate instead. mark c (247)
777589 2009-05-29 05:04:00 Zonealarm is horrible. It works OK but does strange things to your PC.

If you want a good firewall, get Comodo
