" I think what was being said was that the buildings, as well-designed as they were for usual or even slightly unusual forces and problems like winds, hurricanes and fires . . . had no chance of surviving a frontal assault by an aircraft . Even with a 200% safety factor . . and I am just throwing out numbers here . . . I suspect that there's no way they could stand with what happened . The buildings relied too much on the "skin" integrity and once that was breeched, it was a sure thing that they'd cascade to the ground in the way that dominoes fall over on each other . |

| 616458 | 2007-12-04 21:06:00 | I think what was being said was that the buildings, as well-designed as they were for usual or even slightly unusual forces and problems like winds, hurricanes and fires . . . had no chance of surviving a frontal assault by an aircraft . according to a tv doco i saw about building the twin towers, running the official story, they were in fact built with aircraft impact in mind to withstand the impact of a 747, as it was a possibility they had considered (but as an accident, not a terrorist act) . obviously they could take the impact, as we saw twice, but according to them "they hadn't considered the effect of the burning jet fuel" funny how all 3 wtc buildings are the first steel structures in modern history to collapse due to fire - i hear there was a hotel in california somewhere that burnt for over 5 hours before being put out and that never failed oh and who's heard the theory that it was an insurance scam, not unlike the titanic?:lol: |

Isn't the more logical question: "why would the US government conspirators cause a building that hadn't been hit by a plane to collapse?". I mean come on, the logic in these conspiracies is arse about face. Why did this building fall over if it wasn't hit by a plane? Oh, it must have been deliberately destroyed! But why, if you are hatching such a plot, do you go and knock over a random building that hadn't been hit by a plane, which then only succeeds in drawing attention to your supposed massive conspiracy? It's all just fabulously stupid and the most wonderful thing of the lot is that people believing in it just love to feel superior about it all, as if those of us unwilling to believe in such total rubbish, are somehow fools being dubbed by the cunning global conspiracy. And while it is a bit of a laugh, unfortunately people being willing to believe in this kind of stuff is not always just innocent fun. Witness the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, an anti-semitic fake document cooked up by the Tsar's secret police which to this day some people still believe is a genuine doc detailing the baby-eating evil practices of the Jews. That single doc has helped kick off innumerable massacres and murders since the 19th Century, and remains a plank of neo-nazi groups. |

There are some pretty bright people,some of whom believe there is a God and then there is the opposite view,what what are we to conclude from this? We live in a mad mad world. |

Damn the torpedoes/icebergs...full steam ahead! It was also unsinkable. :blush:..and therein may be the conspiracy. |

The NTSB said they didn't find them, the FBI didn't have them, and if what happened to the people on the planes is true, why wasn't the the real reason ever given to families of the victims . As to the Pentagon, with all the cameras on the buildings, why was no film shown of the plane actually hitting the building, but film from across the road was, and only 5 frames, and that was inconclusive as it was too blurry to see anything . Even though the film from the Hotel that faced the Pentagon showed the "plane", the film was confiscated along with others from other buildings, and the staff told not to divulge any information because of National Security . And to the WT7 building that was "pulled" by the owner, who even admitted it on television . He stood to gain plenty from the buildings collapse, and did get more than he would have, as he re insured them just weeks prior . The buildings collapse and subsequently lightening fast cleanup, that was instigated, and the fact the steel was sold, and the rubble dumped without any investigation, and there should have been, as it WAS a crime scene leaves a lot of unanswered questions . Too many coincidences, like NORAD conducting exercises on the same day, and it was the same scenario as what was actually happening so that when planes started moving around the counrty willy nilly, and for long periods of time, no one knew if it was an exercise or real . Aircraft sent in the wrong direction, the list goes on . So you may think that the so called experts knew it all, but there is enough reasonable doubt left to have called for another official inquiry, but I doubt this will ever happen . BTW I don't support conspiracies, but after researching both sides, it has left me with a lot of doubts as to what really happened . :confused: |

BTW I don't support conspiracies, but after researching both sides, it has left me with a lot of doubts as to what really happened. :confused: I guess that's the best to be gathered from the event(s)..that we may never know the truth..but I am sure it lies somewhere in the middle of the two extremes. |

Too many 'if's in the conspiracy theories to be factual let alone they put together a case and got proven wrong. Links are in the wikipedia link provided before. |

Apparently it was the designated "Bullsh|t Central" public information source after the Twin Towers were drilled, and the huge internal efflux of raw conspiracy theory overloaded weak points strategically engineered into the structure, thus causing it to implode and collapse, effectively diverting all attention away from physics, engineering theory and the huge flying saucer that was hovering over the scene for several hours that very morning. I didn't see it myself, but my neighbour's best friend knows a man in Alaska whose sister says her husband's third cousin was talking on the phone to somebody in Texas at the time of the collapse, and he reckoned an astral spirit warned him in a dream back in '78 or '79 that a flying saucer would use a death ray to kill his pigs if he didn't get them to smell better and he figured that since the pigs were still a bit on the nose that just had to be the truth and the aliens' ray-aimer must have used the wrong coordinates or something otherwise it would have been him and his pigs that got turned into pressed fried ham.
