616077 2007-11-28 19:35:00 Well today is the big day, moving home after work.

I cancelled my slingshot, which was quite hard to do. They put me on hold after I told them I wanted to cancel my account. After 20 mins I put the phone on handsfree while I played quake 4 again. A whooping almost 4 hours later I get the message:'We are sorry, you have called outside our normal business hours....'. So I emailed them curious to see if anything had been done. Nope still going. I said I wanted my account cancelled today (29th) which I did on Monday (26th). They cut it off with no notice or reply or anything yesterday (28th).

Sheesh. Touchy:lol:

Anyways, sorry about the moan, Xnet here I come.

What other stuff do you have to do? Change addy for power, phone and anything else?

616080 2007-11-28 20:22:00 really, i thought the telecom help desk was bad, i called them to ask why my go large plan was so slow and they put me on hold and then hung up on me!
have you notified the bank about your change of address? you dont want the new tenants getting you bank statements :)

616081 2007-11-28 20:27:00 True, I forghot that one. Dont want anyone to see how poor I really am:o rob_on_guitar (4196)
616082 2007-11-28 20:57:00 - Ask at nearest NZ Post shop for a mail redirect form. A couple of years ago mail redirection was free for the first couple of months, a pay for service after that.

- Leave a card in the flat for the new tenants showing your new address and phone number.

A friend of mine ended up with a Baycorp debt due to moving. Showed up as gna - gone no address. Only discovered it when he went to open a new bank account... Nasty.

616084 2007-11-28 21:52:00 Also give your landlord your new address. I know you do it on the bond form but if he posts it to Tenancy Services rather than faxes it - it's gone.

Perhaps go through cheque book and think of others.

My daughter was organized but still missed heaps. We drop by her old place every few months. To start with there was quite a bit, now more crap than anything (personalized advertising mainly).
