| 777280 | 2009-05-27 06:06:00 | Hello, First time post . . =] I need some help choosing a 3D card/graphics accelerator . My aim is to spend around $200 NZD -/+ . What would I like to run at reasonable FPS on high-ish? - Call of Duty: World at war . (and potentially COD: MW2) Burnout Paradise Left 4 Dead Fallout 3 GTA IV Crisis - I know my PC is not the greatest gaming PC and will never be and will not be able to run the top cards, but I would like to get the most out of it as possible . PC: HYENA 300W POWER SUPPLY DR-8320BTX Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2 Motherboard AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ 2 . 4GHz (Not OC'ed) 2Gig RAM (single stick) 250Gig Hdd So my questions are, Which 3D card is best for my PC? What are the top two or three cards for me to choose from in your opinion and why? Any advice or other comments are welcome :thanks |

| 777282 | 2009-05-27 06:48:00 | you could just go to pricespy and get the best ~$200 card. I had a quick look, you'd be choosing between ATi 4830/4770/4850 and nVidia 9800GT. My pick would probably be 4850 because it is the fastest of the lot (but then it -is- the most expensive) Look at some review sites to see how those cards play the games you want. For GTA IV and crysis, you may have to lower the settings to mid range to get it playable. |

If you have quite a high resolution monitor then it'll be unlikely you'll be able to get a card for around 200 that can play those games at a very high FPS and highish settings. Blam |

A 9500GT is NOT a gaming card, especially with GTA and Crysis. Have a look here: www.tomshardware.com Forget anything under 32 And I agree - Hyena make the worst PSUs in the universe. |
