| 778608 | 2009-05-31 08:21:00 | I have a laptop running Windows Vista. The laptop is an Aspire 4520 AMD 64 Athalon X2. Now the problem I have with this laptop constantly is when I start this laptop up it always freezes. It doesnt happen "everytime" but very frequently and sometimes when I am in the middle of surfing the Net of when I am just generally working with this system. Is there anyone out there that might have an idea on how to fix this problem or give me a Web site that might get me help with this issue. I also have a friend at work who has the same problem with this Operating System. Can anyone help please. |

| 778609 | 2009-05-31 08:28:00 | Does it have the service packs installed. Any X's in the event viewer for the time that it freezes? Does it unfreeze itself again or do you need to reboot? | gary67 (56) | ||

| 778611 | 2009-05-31 08:30:00 | Most likely the: a) Motherboard b) RAM c) Hard drive. d) Software/drivers Check if it freezes in Safe Mode. And check in the Event Log for errors/warnings when it freezes(Run>eventvwr) First thing I would do is download memtest (www.memtest86.com). Extract the iso from the zip file and burn to a blank CD. If you do not have an image burning program try ImgBurn (imgburn.com). Next, set the laptop to boot from CD first then run a memory test and see if any errors are picked up. Blam |
