| 778158 | 2009-05-29 23:43:00 | Ive just been re-building an old iMedia desktop that Ive had lying around for a while. I installed a SoundBlaster Live soundcard (works) and a SMC Wireless G + MIMO PCI adapter however on boot the SMC status and power lights dont come on. Ive tried swapping the SMC and soundcard around but no change. The computer doesnt recognise it and all drivers are installed, this is slightly puzzling. I put the SMC in another PC (other pc has no GFX card so I cant test the card) but the power and status lights go on and fitting it into the PCI slot is easy however installing into the iMedia the card doesnt seem to fit properly and is a battle to get in. Im thinking maybe its just a poor connection but all the PCI pins seem to be in contact so maybe its a bit more! Thanks in advance! |

| 778161 | 2009-05-30 04:54:00 | You havent installed your motherboard drivers, most likely the cause of your problem/s. I dont think your motherboard is made by Nvidia (they only do graphics cards and chipsets), just the chipset on it (Nforce 420); take another look. If this is a commercially made box, it could be a generic motherboard, if there is no manufacturers name (Asus, MSI, ECS, Gigabyte or similar) near the slots, try googling any series of alphanumeric characters you can see on the board (good luck). |
