Ive decided to use my old pc (running a celeron and Windows ME and upgrading the CD-R to a DVD-RW along with a 20gb HDD and 184mb of RAM.) It'll Do for now...Unless you decide to buy mine. 2 Seagate hard drives (1 is 80 gig, the other is 120 gig) with a Pentium 4 3000 chip. Includes a really decent crt monitor, and great TDK speaker system

Only drawbackback is the the sound and graphics are on the motherboard. But it's a great system. Wth good graphics and sound, especially with the fantastic speakers.

It includes a legit version of Win XP Pro.

Pickup is required from Napier or for buyer to arrange courier collection.

I'm asking only $500 for the lot.

778750 2009-06-04 05:41:00 the atom boards could have been worth a look - lacking processing power certainly but ok for what you said you wanted ( basically the guts of a netbook )

www.pbtechnz.com for example. Add RAM, case & PSU & drives and there you go. They are very quiet and use tiny amounts of power.

Not something I personally have a use for but thought it worth a mention.

very Optimistic:clap

Unfortunately, i dont think im spending $500 when i have a "Dumb PC" to onto the net.

And Dugimodo....

I may go for that in a couple of months or until when my PC is choking to death under pressure from microsoft programs

You could build the same PC for much less, but waay faster with the Atom 330 dual core and with more room for future upgrades.

EEE PC is good for those who need space, otherwise, IMO its bad value
