778990 2009-06-02 09:02:00 Thanks guys,
Now at home and using Internet with decent speed.
OK have run dskchk and then ran Defrag again but similar result. Will now reboot and run defrag in safe.

778991 2009-06-02 09:15:00 started in Safe tried Defrag but won't run. Tried run defrag from cmd and got "drive is in use by another process" error message:confused: theother1 (3573)
778992 2009-06-02 09:19:00 As already said did you type Y then restart/reboot? Speedy Gonzales (78)
778993 2009-06-02 10:16:00 Yes, as you suggested. theother1 (3573)
778994 2009-06-02 10:17:00 will do it again theother1 (3573)
778995 2009-06-02 10:42:00 OK done all that again. Defrag still won't run.
Appears to be a fault in Drive C as it goes straight to Drive D and spends a couple of minutes on that. There is only 3.94Gbs in it 135Gb free so assume it is completing defrag. Wish it showed the progress.
Beginning to see why people like XP so much!!!!!!!

778996 2009-06-02 11:10:00 Use this (www.iobit.com), or this (sourceforge.net). Theyre free Speedy Gonzales (78)
778997 2009-06-03 02:57:00 Thanks Speedy,
Used both of those. First one wouldn't run either the second one did, though I had left my power supply at work so had to pause it when the battery got too low.
Finally finished. There were about 320 fragmented files when defrag was completed. Is that bad? is there something that can be done about it?

778998 2009-06-03 03:00:00 Thats probably why things didnt work it was running on battery, and probably figured out it didnt want to defrag. If it defragged it thats good enough.

Not much you can do about it, dont want to defrag it dont use it :p
