778543 2009-05-31 04:02:00 Hi PF1'ers
When I hover my mouse cursor over a thread in the forum, a pop-up text box appears with a brief of the thread content. In Opera this box remains until I move the mouse off the link giving me chance to read the 4 or 5 lines of text.
However in Firefox the text box only shows for about 5 seconds. Can anyone point me to a setting in Firefox where I can change the setting to be longer or preferably to keep the text visible until I move off the link as with Opera? Thanks

778544 2009-05-31 04:11:00 The text in IE8 shows for a few seconds as well here but there again you could move the cursor back again and you will get the same text.

What happens if you move the cursor back in Firefox?

778545 2009-05-31 04:23:00 If you move off and back on to the link the same text is shown again, it's just the first few lines of the post. Compared to Opera, which keeps the text on while your cursor is on the link, it's a pain to keep having to move the mouse cursor on and off the link to refresh the text box in Firefox. I thought there may be a setting in the configuration to keep the text on or at least lengthen the time it shows for. JonB (1885)
778546 2009-05-31 07:29:00 I can get all the info I need to decide whether to click the link in 5 seconds. Never been a problem. Read faster. Jester (13)

778548 2009-05-31 12:06:00 I do not think there is a setting in Firefox to acheive what I think you want.

Use Opera if it works then for PressF1 and use firefox elsewhere.

778549 2009-05-31 12:24:00 Try this (addons.mozilla.org) Firefox extension - I haven't used it before, but a quick search seems to indicate that this is a pretty likely candidate for solving your problem. Erayd (23)

Many thanks for your suggestion, I did a thorough search to check for nasties and installed the Add-on. It is exactly what I was looking for and now FF performs identically to Opera. For seventy year old vision impaired eyes this is a great improvement on the 5 second flash! Thanks again.

778552 2009-06-02 09:57:00 Hi. Is there a way of doing the same thing in IE? A Team (13613)
