| 620052 | 2007-12-10 21:17:00 | What are they doing??!! Getting in PCs that have been fixed by them round the corner. This latest had 219 spywares, 2 trojans and had been fixed by apparently installing XP over the top of itself. It now has all kinds of screwups in the system. Its as slow as a 3 legged pig too. Suggested to the owners they do a fresh install. Some *&^^%$ "techs". --------------------------------------------------------- And. Bought Vista. For practice purposes of course. Dual booted. Haven't messed with it much yet. I hate that it doesn't allow FAT32. I hate its install. I hate the enormous increase in services. I hate that I have to get new programs - like the firewall. I've had my firewall for so long now...........ZA 4 Pro version. Sob, I have to lose it.......... I hate its looks. So far haven't found anything to like other than it did all my drivers itself. That may turn out to be a bad thing, but it seems to have identified everything correctly. |

| 620054 | 2007-12-10 21:35:00 | One of the ladies in my church sent her PC away to be fixed at another local tech shop. Got it back 7 working days later and Im not kidding you, the machine STILL takes approx 18 minutes to boot fully (Decent box, WinXP, Athlon 3200+, 512MB Ram, nVidia FX5200). Cost her $250 too :-/ no idea WHAT they did, but it didnt work. I feel the same re: vista.. sucks thou that as a "techie" you need to know about it to support it :( |
