618968 2007-12-08 00:52:00 a howick man has been stabbed

nz.news.yahoo.com

why are all these stabbings happening in auckland especially in these upmarket areas. are auckland streets any different to other nz cities?

i wonder how all the howick people who live in the street are going to enjoy this fine weather auckland is having today because the police have closed off their street so i'm assuming they won't be allowed out of their street unless police only allow people who live in the street to go in and out. maybe someone who knows can tell us.

618972 2007-12-08 01:58:00 Not too long ago, an octogenarian woman was bound and left to die in her house, which was set on fire in Howick. Renmoo (66)
618973 2007-12-08 02:03:00 There has been 3 murders so far this weekend. One in Auckland, one in Porirua and one in Christchurch.

I remember when a murder was a big news affair in NZ as there was so few of them.

Seems to be more happening all the time. People seem more accepting of the way our society is going.

What is the answer?

618974 2007-12-08 02:09:00 Howick isn't upmarket.....?

What is the answer? Harsher penalties for criminals which is what most of us voted for in that referendum, but does the Government listen? No.

Why is it occurring? Drugs, and the lame-brains are breeding at a faster rate....

618976 2007-12-08 03:27:00 Bloody typical. Something happens in Auckland and theres a huge uproar. Happens anywhere else and 'yeah, that sorta thing happens'.

This kinda reminds me of the power cuts last year I think it was. South Canterbury etc get cut off for 2-3 weeks and just get on as best they can. Auckland loses power for a few days and it's expected to be a national outcry

It was only for 8-hour at the start of the working week....

But don’t forget Auckland has had only two big power cuts in my 22 year of living here, & the one in 2006 affected almost all of Auckland!.

Its not like Auckland has big power cuts every winter like what happens in South Canterbury most years (ok, all years, but it does happen).
