If noise control gets two or more complaints (from different neighbours) they'll send someone around to ask them to quiet down. If after a set period the noise continues I think they can then shut down the noisy equipment (remove stereos etc.) If nobody else complains you have to ring back an hour or two later if the noise continues, then noise control will come and investigate. | 618904 | 2007-12-08 01:08:00 | One guy in a council van deciding he doesn't want to confront a whole heap of large drunk noisy hooligans so calls for help - from the police. Or neighbours calling the police for behaviour issues rather than a loud stereo. |

| 618905 | 2007-12-08 01:15:00 | Noise control can't shut down parties etc. - too dangerous :) they can issue warnings etc. and request for the stereos to be turned down. But seizing stereos and shutting down parties is done by the police at the request of noise control. Mike. |
