779219 2009-06-03 01:25:00 Have just replaced the hard drive & reinstalled the OS (Vista) on a Acer Aspire 5720
Managed to extract the chip & vidio drivers from the old hard drive as there are none on the acer site.
Only drivers on the site are Audio, Bluetooth & Camera.
Have done the Audio & Camera.
Bluetooth won't install, says there is no device to support.
On reboot system still wants to install drivers for Acer Modual, Network Controller & Unknown.
These items are flagged on the device manager.
If I let update search for drivers it come up with a CIR & a Card Reader.
Also the hot keys are not active.

779220 2009-06-03 01:32:00 is the Old system still operational ?? if so download Drivermax (www.innovative-sol.com) install it ( its got a 30 day free trial) run it on the old system, select Driver Operations -- Export Drivers -- Save the file to a removable source, load up the new install, copy the saved folder with all the original drivers, then either install driver max -import drivers - select the ones you want - or from device manager, navigate to the folder and install from there.

Note: you can do all original drivers if you want - as long as you're sure they are not damaged.

Edited: had to do this yesterday on an old IBM I couldn't locate all the drivers for.

779221 2009-06-03 02:02:00 No the old HD died, took me ages to to get the files off that I did.
Anything bigger than about 3mb it would just lock up.
Managed to get down to just the Acer modual now, whatever that is.

779222 2009-06-03 02:17:00 Dont know if This here (www.acerpanam.com) will help or not, select the model, it brings up a PDF with links to drivers concerning the model - some I didn't even know existed :D wainuitech (129)
779223 2009-06-03 03:25:00 Certainly does help. Wish I'd had that yesterday.
The Acer modual turned out to be Blue Tooth.
The only driver I can't find is for the Hotkeys.
I'll try some of the other chip drivers, it might be incorperated.

779224 2009-06-03 03:36:00 Looks like the Hotkeys are on page 5 of the PDF - Launch manager wainuitech (129)
779225 2009-06-03 03:58:00 If you install the chipset drivers, the blue tooth modules may then be visable to the motherboard and in turn the system o/s. Which may already have a driver for it....The only driver for bluetooth I have had to install (Wacom) had the driver in the o/s SolMiester (139)

Thanks for that but we're all good now.
