| 619083 | 2007-12-08 08:16:00 | Funny how Apple is bigger than both HP or Dell. :DAnd? I know when the former company I worked for shipped a product, if 95% of the product did not meet customer expectation; it was looked at as a bad thing. 80% therefore is shocking for a lartge company like Apple I would also be interested in how many respondents there were in the survey; what % were Apple users, and what % used other. Everyone knows that Apple is not a majority player in the world of tech, so if 5 people used Apple, and only one said they weren't happy, theres your 80% (which is probably what happened to a slightly larger degree). Keep grasping at straws, maybe eventually you'll have enough for a raft :) |

| 619084 | 2007-12-08 08:34:00 | "The best and worst of technology were revealed last night (27/11/07) at the PC Authority Reliability and Service Awards, voted for by over 14,000 readers making it the biggest tech survey ever attempted in Australia." www.pcauthority.com.au Considering Apple's market share in the Australian market is similar to ours I would imagine that the majority of the readers of PC Authority Mag would be PC users. The ‘Best PC’ award is sure to raise a few eyebrows, especially considering that Apple for years has been trying to distance itself from the ‘PC’ brand. And it appears even Apple were caught off guard, with both its international and Australian offices declining to comment on the accolade. While Acer and Compaq saw only 67 to 69 percent of customers satisfied with support, Apple rang in with a whopping 80 percent of satisfied customers, while 48 percent said they were “very satisfied”. Dell had a 75 percent satisfaction ranking. In terms of reliability, 90 percent of Mac users were satisfied, compared to Dell’s 83 percent. Acer scored lowest with 71 percent of buyers satisfied and Compaq only satisfied 74 percent. In a result that may surprise PC enthusiasts who maintain Macs are overpriced, Apple came out tops in the value for money stakes too, satisfying 76 percent of its customers. Dell came in at 75 percent, while Compaq, HP and Lenovo were 65 percent, 68 percent and 63 percent respectively. |

If Apples market share in Aus is the same as that of NZ, I'd be surprised if there were even 14,000 Apple users in Aus and NZ combined (unless you include ipo[xyPOS]d |

| 619087 | 2007-12-08 08:49:00 | Apple crowned “Best PC” in Australia’s biggest tech survey Apple has edged out PC stalwarts Dell and HP to take the “Best PC” award in Australia’s biggest ever consumer technology survey. Conducted by consumer tech magazine, PC Authority, the 2007 Reliability & Service Awards were compiled with the participation of over 14,000 respondents who filled out surveys detailing their satisfaction levels of over 93,000 items of hardware and 100,000 items of software, worth over $50,000,000. Unfortunately the article doesn't give the exact numbers who voted for Apple (be it 5 or 5,000) out of the 14,000+ compared to the thousands who voted for the PC brands listed. |

My implication is that if 5 people who used Apple replied, and 4 were 'most satisfied'; thats not really a fair representation of the market is it? (out of the original 14,000) |

| 619091 | 2007-12-08 09:03:00 | Well 4 Mac customers were happier with their Macs than 13,996 frustrated PC customers with their PCs . I will keep a look out for the article in print to see if it gives any voting numbers of the various categories as opposed to percentages. |
