779352 2009-06-04 03:24:00 What game are you wanting to get more frames per second for? convair (13650)
779353 2009-06-04 04:07:00 I know the card is DX10 compliant, I am using DX11. It was factory overclocked to 750Mhz, so that's good. I can turn details down, I think most games are already 1024*768. Is it possible that RAM speed can have a significant effect on game performance? I think my RAM is only running at 400Mhz(CPUZ says it is), when it should be 1066. I think that is a PSU issue.
Jimm - At the moment I am mainly playing COD4, Crysis, and Hitman Blood Money. Hitman isn't bad but Crysis and COD occasionaly pause for a half second.
Also dxDiag reports my card as having 1GB of RAM, but the box it came in says 512MB.

779354 2009-06-04 04:42:00 If the games are smooth most of the time but pause or stutter occasionally when moving or turning fast or entering new areas it's quite possibly system RAM that is the issue and not your hardware. When the game runs out of RAM it has to page out to the hard drive and this is much slower. Adding more RAM or killing all unecessary software and processes while gaming can help.

You RAM running at the wrong speed should have nothing to do with the PSU, it should be detected by the motherboard and run at it's default settings. If you are certain it is 1066 RAM and the motherboard / processor support that speed then you can go into the BIOS in most cases and manually configure it for the correct speed. Some research may be required. Be sure you are not looking at the FSB bus speed instead of the RAM speed though

779355 2009-06-04 04:56:00 It's Crucial Ballistix Tracer 1066, so yep it should be. OK then I'll check the BIOS. I found some software today that kills background processes when you are gaming so hopefully that will help. sammo450 (13626)
779356 2009-06-04 05:02:00 I suspect that's reporting the base clock speed, which would mean its running as DDR2-800. So it's not bad - but yeah, you can probably turn it up in the BIOS. It may be that it requires a higher voltage to clock at 1066. inphinity (7274)

AFAIK, DX11 isnt released yet, so there certainly isnt any DX11 games! All the games you list I play with the same graphic GPU @ 1680*1050, so if you are having issues @ 1024*768, I would imagine you have configuration issues.

779359 2009-06-05 00:39:00 dxDiag reports my version of dx as 11. Are there known issues with Crucial Ballistix Tracer? I have had a few BSODs recently, and yesterday I noticed it said something about memory. sammo450 (13626)

Well, the 9600 is hardly going to saturate the pcie bus, however?!

Why is the slot only 8x instead of 16x?
