779024 2009-06-02 04:30:00 Currently I have a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R Mbo in a ATX case and would like to replace the Intel stock cooler with the above Fan. I am also using a Intel E 8500 core duo CPU.
My Query: Will the 9500 fit on the above Mbo.
Will the PWM fan control work with the above CPU and Mbo.
Do I have to alter or adjust any BIOS settings.
Many thanks for your help :clap

779025 2009-06-02 04:49:00 Might be a tight fit, here's a pic of it on a mobo (techreport.com) Depends if its got a 3 or 4 pin connector, on whether it supports PWM Speedy Gonzales (78)

the PWM fan control should work with the fan if the HSF is 4pin.

779027 2009-06-07 05:28:00 To Speedy Gonzales.....Many thanks for your reply plus the photos. I have checked a few more review sites, admittedly some were on older CPU , early Intel and AMD, however the test results were quite good. Meantime I have ordered a CNPS 9500 AT series which is made specifically for the Intel 775 socket ( I am using a Core Duo E8500 ) which I believe runs fairly cool and has a low TDP. One other thing ,this cooler type has a PWM fan control which ,hopefully will give a better fan control than the LED model with Fan Mate.
When I have everything going I will post some results. I sure hop it has been worth all the research.

779028 2009-06-07 05:38:00 To Speedy, Just another comment. I notice that you are using Comodo firewall. I used this for a while and then it decided to just go real BAD., I think it was after an upgrade. No amount of work , wipe out /reinstal/ cleans etc etc got me anywhere. Many days later I heard about ( Online Armour ) from a PC World site and gave it a go, It does get a bit nosy at times but to date ,( 8 months later ) still goes without choking anything, and believe me, on my old AMD system that says a lot. Has any one else used On line Armour ? Any comments ? halkelorno (14145)
