If you don't have one, then probably cash when driver turns up...maybe. Post an invoice? Don't know, my guess is you'll be laughed off the phone. |

| 622160 | 2007-12-18 00:47:00 | AA only covers you if you are stuck IN the city, we broke down 20 mins outa chch and it cost us $40 from memory to be towed. Still cheaper than usual. They are really good at breaking into cars though :thumbs: |

Just used the alarm or built-in Mitsi door unlock button thingy on the key to unlock the doors. One night the missus drove, I was drunk :D , and she left the lights on. So when we got back to the car we obviously couldn't get into it. Called the AA and it took him about 20 mins to get one of the doors unlocked. |

So when we got back to the car we obviously couldn't get into it. Called the AA and it took him about 20 mins to get one of the doors unlocked. You must have had those internal locks the AA guy was meaning when he turned up at my car and said “Thank god you have that style of lock” mine are those old simple locks which sit vertical by the window. I got to see how it was done too, quite scary how easy it was, took him about 2 minutes and he was gone. |

What a moron your driver was . . . the AA guy . . . not the wife . All he had to do was attach the positive battery jumper cable to the starter and the ground to the frame and your electronic key would instantly work . We used a very small diameter wire with a small alligator clip . . as the current used to unlock the doors was minimal and didn't need the bulk of a full set of jumper cables . As he did it, he likely did some minor (or major) damage to the lock mechanism which will show up in a while . Hopefully he slim-jim'd the passenger's side . . as the driver usually can tell pretty quick that the lock is messed up when he tries to use a key to unlock the door someday . For 14 years of my 47+ years as a mechanic, I also drove a tow truck for AAA and had many 6-Alphas . . . or lock-outs to b & e . Club rules are that you NEVER slim-jim a driver's door . . . and don't even do it unless you've got it wired (US for aced) and have had a lot of successes as a trainee . Primary rule is: Never do something that will cost the club (AAA) any money or they'll take it outta your contract station . . and that has a trickle-down effect that gets to your pocket . |
