621945 2007-12-17 04:53:00 A mouse has managed to get into my flat & it doesn't want to leave.

I went down to the warehouse to get a mousetrap, but they don't seem to have any. Where would I get one from?

If the mouse is too smart for the mouse trap, do you have any suggestions on what to try?

Failing that, if no kids/pets use a poison that dries them up so they don't decompose.

I have seen a mouse caught in a cockroach trap

621951 2007-12-17 05:27:00 There are some very good automatic setting mouse traps available in New World Supermarkets, they cost about $5 and are made of white plastic with red writing on them, plastic, so washable, you don't have to touch the caught mice, and you WILL catch them, very easy to set, the best I have ever seen and I have used quite a few models over the years. Worth the extra dollars, the 2 dollar ones are shoddy.

Bait the traps with a touch of peanut butter, never fails, they can't resist it and have to gnaw of every last bit so always setting off the trap sooner or later.

We catch heaps of them with this type of trap.

We catch heaps of them with this type of trap.We had a small mouse problem earlier this year. Bought 3 of these traps. Within 2 weeks, no more mouse problem, caught 3 mice all up (one in each trap)

Another vote for Zqwerty. Place the trap beside a skirting board such as beneath a kitchen cupboard. Mice run around the perimeters of rooms so the trap needs to be in their path.

Or I could lend Maestro to you - he is Siamese - but he'd spend most of his time sitting on you or your bed. :D

621954 2007-12-17 06:10:00 Trouble with my cats is they are the ones that bring the mice IN to the house - and then either eat them or let them go.

Mousetraps are cheaper and more reliable.
